Big Red Run Experience

I have participated in desert races over the past few years. All of them were tough and challenging, and each race a very unique experience in its own right.

The Big Red Run is no different, but it is also a race with a difference. A combination of its remote location, the beauty of the Simpson Desert, the historical significance of Birdsville and the Birdsville Track, the people – organisers, volunteers, participants – and their reasons for getting involved in the race, the ten million flies, the gibbers, and many other issues, all contribute to making the race an experience of a lifetime.

The Big Red Run should be on all runners’ “desert race bucket list”.
