The event is underpinned by an extremely comprehensive safety plan, with doctors and other medical staff in attendance throughout the event.
Australia's leading event safety and logistics specialist, Lucas Trihey, has coordinated the Big Red Run using his wealth of experience and passion for endurance events.
He’s been involved professionally in safety and risk management for endurance events for over 20 years and has worked in Antarctica, the Karakoram, Africa, Asia, New Zealand, all over Australia and the Outback. With a background in mountaineering, expeditions, search & rescue and desert exploration he is at home in remote places.
The event will be supported by a Medivac helicopter in case of emergency, and we will be working with RFDS if there is any need to fly people out for treatment, and the modern Birdsville Medical Clinic for first point of call treatment.
