Big Red Run Experience

My first experience at the 250km Big Red Run I thought was a once in a life-time experience but I enjoyed myself so much I came back for even more fun and completed the Little Red Run in 2014.  What keeps me coming back for more are the incredible, inspirational people I’ve met, the volunteers who put in so much hard work to ensure our safety and their smiling faces at each check point. I also love the personal mental and physical challenge of being out in the desert and the battles you have with yourself when you’re tired and working out nutrition and hydration needs and how to get to finish line each day in the quickest time possible.

The Simpson Desert is a beautiful place full of surprises and I feel very privileged to have experienced it on foot and met some amazing individuals in the process.
